When is "Static IP" service not a "Static IP" service?
It is not a "Static IP" service when it is provided by Verizon FiOS Internet service.
There is no way to assign the static IP address to your own equipment.
Verizon FiOS Static IP is FAIL.
My MySQL musings, sometimes code snippets and commentry.

Did you buy business class?
That's the only way you get a static IP.
Normal consumer stuff there is no static IP option.
Yes, I purchased business class.
There is a static IP address but it is consumed by Verizon's MoCA box which is used by the TV set top box to download channel data...
Why they can't just have that device stay with a DHCP IP address and allow the customer to use the Static IP is currently a mystery.
Issues resolved. The tech which came out this morning did manage to help fix the install fiasco. It did consume the whole morning but at least it is done and I don't have to endure the hell which is the Verizon automated phone system.
At least, I should not, unless if they have decided to bill me for the engineer call out to fix a problem which Verizon caused in the first place.
Please, Verizon ... Learn to communicate and make sure that the techs receive all the notes that they require to get the job done.
Techs aren't mind-readers.
Verizon is the best in FiOS, sometime you find bad customer support but Verizon offers FiOS
No astroturfing please,
www.cavtel.com still gives me a static ip.
That is the main reason I have not switch to fios
